Well Stocked

I received boxes and boxes of glass last week. I got tons of glass and lots of new colors (I'm so excited about all the possibilities). I love when my studio is well stocked with materials and supplies. Similar to having a fully stocked pantry. You don't have to worry about going to the store all the time.

Lost in Paris

Vertical gardens and "living" buildings have been hot stuff for a little while now. Some people may have become tired of them and are yearning for the next cool thing but I'm not. I completely love the idea of buildings and walls covered in plants. I think these buildings are a positive and pretty addition to the urban landscape. I'm talking aesthetics here, the environmental debate is for a different conversation.

This morning while flipping through Vogue Living, I came across a little article about the above house which is called Lost in Paris. This house combines three things close to my heart: plants, glass and Paris.
J'adore.

The little one goes big

One of my little nest bowls made it into Real Simple for the February Issue( which is out now). I'm pleased, it looks good. And I happen to like Real Simple magazine a lot. Admittedly, I like a lot of magazines. I love magazines in general. Sadly, many of them are going out of business. So go buy a magazine! And if you do that in Oakland go to Issues on Peidmont. They are super sweet in there and have a ton of magazines to satisfy.

P.S. This is the smallest size I make of these nest bowls, there are two larger sizes and coming soon, an XL size. Stay tuned for photos of the big one...

Attitude of Gratitude

I have been surprised this week by little gifts from a smattering of people in my life. These gifts were small and but full up with big thought. Don’t misunderstand: it does not take a gift to get my attention. It was the thoughtfulness of the gifts that touched me.

There is a lot of talk these days about gratitude as in “attitude of gratitude” and the like. Some days I am into all this “positivity” and am totally hippied out. Other days I want to throw things across the room and launch my shoes at random other drivers in traffic. I can be a little fickle.

Today though, I’m feeling it, the gratitude that is.

See...it is the thought that makes these gifts so awesome:

Because someone knows I love coke but noticed I never finish a whole one, An 8 pack of miniature 8 oz cans of Coke Classic

Because I had mentioned in small talk that I watched Ghostride the Whip and was now in love with Mac Dre, 3 mixed CD’s of Bay Area Rap classics.

Because caramel is my favorite things to eat, and I happen to like sea salt a lot too, a box of Poco Dolce tiles. Caramel and sea salt.

Because...well because I’ve got an addiction to lip balm (spend 15 minutes with me and you’ll understand), Ganache lip balm to enable me

Because I do a little gardening when it’s warm and nothing is really growing outside right now because its kinda cold, a beautiful orchid for the desk.

I'm thankful for all the above, and of course so, so much more.
